Happy Friday!

The kids went to a concert in Dallas tonight, so Bruce and I had a bit of an evening to ourselves. We went to the grocery store. After arriving back home and putting the groceries away we sat down on the couch with oatmeal raisin cookies and small glasses of wine. Do we lead exciting lives or what !?

Prayer: “God, thank You for another day to live for You. I am Your servant. Help me this day to be a healthy, responsible follower of Christ. Help me bear good fruit worthy of Your name. Amen”

Matthew 7: 17-20 “Every good tree bears good fruit, but every bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by the fruits you will know them.”

We went to the Fort Worth Live Stock Show on its last day. We were standing in the barn where they were demonstrating milk production. The cows were behind glass with all of their electronic milkers and pipes that take the milk into a huge vat in the next room. Outside the glass was a gentleman telling about the process of milk production and he told us that cows which do not produce enough milk each day have to get new jobs at McDonalds, Burger King, Braums, etc…Travis and I just cracked up.

We, as believers, are all called into the service of God. Our greatest service we provide is the knowledge of God to others. Others who we meet need to know God through our actions and speech to show them how to live a godly life. The most wonderful action God can show us is that when we are not bearing the fruit God desires from us, we are granted another chance to begin again. We are given unmerited and unlimited grace by our heavenly Father even in our failures and our bouts with unfaithfulness. God does not relegate us to Braums and McDonalds when our production is not up to par.

We must strive to share Christ and the love of God each and every day. Today is all we have. Please don’t let the sun go down without sharing the love of God and the grace that Christ offers with someone who needs to know.

Take joy in the journey. Wear comfortable shoes. Count your blessings and say your prayers. Let us continue to pray for each other each day remembering that each of us is fighting some type of battle. Love you all, Bruce, Gaylene, Geni and Travis.

I am not moved by what I see. I am not moved by what I feel. I am moved only by what I believe and I believe God.
