Happy Thursday!
Prayer alert: A
while back I asked for prayers for prayers for a friend who had been diagnosed
with cancer and was having some surgery to check on the status of some small
masses that had developed elsewhere. Tonight we are giving praise to God that
the masses were benign! He will
beginning a second round of chemotherapy and will have scans in July to see is
the chemotherapy has worked or is currently working. Please continue to pray
for our friend as he continues to receive treatment and that it will work to
dissolve the tumors in his lungs.
Prayer alert: This week we were notified that another
friend of ours from St. John Lutheran in Grand Prairie was recently diagnosed
with cancer and a week into his chemotherapy he had a heart attack. He had
stints placed on Wednesday. Please pray for our friend Karl for his healing,
comfort and peace.
Prayer: Lord of
healing and grace there are so many who tonight need to feel Your loving embrace
and know You are with them. They are scared, completely vulnerable and want to
not have these diseases. Lord, give them courage and keep them from becoming
discouraged. It is hard to be strong and courageous when they/we feel so very
weak. Let us all see You through the
eyes of faith and may we all take just one step at a time closer to You. In
Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
“The
LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the one who seeks Him. It is good
that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.”
Lamentations
3: 25-26
My friends, when everything seems to be going wrong let
us not be discouraged. God has immense compassion. Our God also delights in
turning impossible situations into possibly victories. God is not limited by
our possibilities. God is creative and powerful in His claim, “With Me ALL
things are possible.” Our problem is
that we are so used to instant gratification that we do not know how to wait.
God does not run on 24 hour time. God works on the eternal clock. When we learn
to wait on the answer or solution God has planned then we are closer to
understanding God’s time clock. In the time that we are called upon to wait we
can choose to become more aware of God’s living Presence. When we learn to wait
and focus on the living Presence of God in our lives we live a life saturated in
blessings and stand continually on holy ground.
Take joy in the journey of hope remembering that hope
does not disappoint. Wear comfortable shoes, pray with a heart filled with
gratitude for all of the blessings given to you by the living presence of God
and get some sleep. Love you all, Bruce, Gaylene, Geni, Travis and Sarah.
I am not moved by what I see. I am not moved by what I
feel. I am only moved by what I believe and I believe God.
